Morgan Emma Jean Henderson, a 16-year-old from Pittsboro, Indiana, sadly lost her life in a car accident, her family confirmed.
Morgan passed away on Monday, November 11, 2024, in rural Pittsboro. An obituary shared by EricMD Bell Funeral Home reported the heartbreaking news.
Her sister, Chelsea, posted on social media to confirm the tragedy and requested privacy for the grieving family. “This is Chelsea, and I’m sharing this on behalf of my mom. We’re devastated to announce that my sister, Morgan, was in a fatal accident this morning. We ask for privacy as our family tries to process this difficult time,” she wrote.
Reports indicate that the accident took place in the 1300 block of East County Road 900 North in Pittsboro. Morgan’s vehicle reportedly veered off the road, hit a parked truck, and crashed into the side of a building.
The North West Hendricks School District, where Morgan attended Tri-West High School, released a statement expressing their condolences.

What Happened?
Around 8:30 a.m., Morgan was driving her tan Nissan SUV westbound on County Road 900 North, just outside of Pittsboro. For unknown reasons, her vehicle suddenly veered off the road.
After leaving the roadway, the SUV rolled over and crashed into a parked pickup truck in a private driveway just west of County Road 150 East. Investigators arrived at the scene and pronounced Morgan dead.

The Hendricks County Sheriff’s Office shared that speed may have played a role in the accident, but there is no indication that drugs or alcohol were involved.
