About West Bengal Joint Entrance Examinations Board
The West Bengal Joint Entrance Examinations Board (WBJEEB) was set up by the Government of West Bengal in 1962 to conduct entrance exams for admission to medical, engineering, and technological courses in the state.
This was done under Article 162 of the Indian Constitution, following order No. 828-Edn(T) on March 2, 1962. In 2014, the Board became a statutory body under the “West Bengal Joint Entrance Examinations Board Act, 2014” (West Bengal Act XIV of 2014).
