UKZN Online Application 2024/2025
The University of KwaZulu-Natal (UKZN) has an application status portal for prospective students to track and access their admission status online. Below are the details on the application process, important dates, fees, required documents, and how to apply.
Application Closing Dates
The closing date for all UKZN online applications is September 30, 2024. No late applications will be accepted, so it’s important to apply before this date.
University of Kwa-Zulu Natal Application Process
All first-year applications are processed through the Central Applications Office (CAO). This allows applicants to apply to multiple programs and institutions with one application form and fee. Follow these steps to apply to UKZN through CAO for the 2025 intake:
- Visit the CAO website at www.cao.ac.za.
- Click on the “Apply” tab.
- Review the information and click “Continue with application.”
- Enter your ID number or CAO number, then submit.
- Click “Continue with application” again.
- Fill in the required information and click ‘Next.’
- A pop-up will show your CAO Number, Password, and EasyPay Number, also sent to your email.
- Click ‘Continue with Online Application.’
- Enter your next of kin details.
- Input your grade 11 or grade 12 results.
- Choose up to 6 courses you want to apply for.
- Review your application summary.
- Click ‘Process My Application’ to submit.
- After submitting, upload your supporting documents and pay the application fee online or at an EasyPay Outlet.

- South African Students: Apply via the CAO website.
- International Students: Apply directly to UKZN. Obtain the CAO application form and handbook from the CAO website or contact them at +27 (0)31 268 4444 or via email at enquiries@ukzn.ac.za. Send the filled-out CAO form, proof of payment, and required documents to the Central Applications Office, Private Bag X06, Dalbridge 4014.
