According to the reports, 60.55% of students passed with at least five credits, including English and Math. In the 2024 NECO exams, 1,376,423 students registered, but only 1,367,736 took the exam. Out of these, 706,950 were boys, and 669,473 were girls.
Of the students who took the exam, 60.55% (828,284 students) passed with at least five credits, including English and Math. Getting five credits in key subjects, including English and Math, is required for admission into Nigerian universities and colleges.
In 2023, 61.60% of students passed, and in 2022, it was 60%. So, the pass rate has stayed around the same over the last three years. Additionally, 83.90% of the students (1,147,597) got five credits in any subjects, whether or not they included English and Math. In 2023, this number was a bit higher at 84.68%.
