About DHE Haryana College
History: Haryana became a separate state from Punjab in 1966. It has a rich history filled with ancient kingdoms, spiritual significance, and many battles. Over time, it has evolved into a strong and proud state known for its progress and development, boasting the second-highest per capita income in India.Â
In 1966, Haryana had only Kurukshetra University and 2 government colleges. Now, the state boasts 38 universities, including 1 Central University, 10 State Universities, 24 Private Universities, 3 Deemed Universities, and 1 Institute of Eminence.
The Governor of Haryana serves as Chancellor for State Universities and as Visitor for Private Universities. These universities offer a wide range of faculties and courses.
Haryana has 180 Government Colleges, 2 Government Education Colleges, 97 Government Aided Colleges, and 94 Self-financing colleges. The State Government actively opens government colleges within a 20-kilometer radius to ensure all students, especially girls, have easy access to higher education opportunities.
