About the Government College University Faisalabad(GCUF)
Government College Women University Faisalabad (GCWUF) began as an intermediate college in 1934. It became a degree college in 1944 and started offering postgraduate programs in 1985. It was officially granted university status on January 5, 2013.
Located near Jaranwala Road, not far from the Clock Tower, the university serves over six million people from the city and surrounding areas. It has two campuses: the main campus and the new campus. Currently, over eight thousand students are enrolled at the main campus, with numbers expected to grow.
GCWUF offers a range of programs: 31 bachelor’s degrees, one associate degree (ADE), a 1.5-year B.Ed., 17 master’s degrees, 10 M.Phil. programs, and 5 Ph.D. programs across various faculties. The faculty is dedicated and well-qualified, with many holding PhD, MS/MPhil, or MSc degrees. New PhD graduates are also part of the faculty through the Interim Placement of Fresh PhDs (IPFP) program. The university provides PhD scholarships and career opportunities through HEC programs.
