CPUT Online Application Requirements

Below are the minimum requirements for every prospective student:

  1. For South African Citizens:
    • Your ID.
  2. For International Students:
    • Your passport.
  3. If You Are Under 18 Years Old:
    • Your guardian or parent’s ID or passport.
  4. If You Have Already Matriculated:
    • National Senior Certificate.
  5. If You Are Still in Grade 12:
    • Final Grade 11 results with the school’s stamp.
  6. If You Are a Current Student at Another Institution:
    • Your academic record.
  7. For International Students Applying to South African Universities:
    • USAf accreditation from the examination board. Apply to for conditional exemption, foreign conditional exemption, or mature age conditional exemption.
  8. For Students with IGCSE and HIGCSE Study Levels:
    • Passes in at least five different subjects, with at least two at the HIGCSE level.
    • A pass in the language of instruction at the University (English or Afrikaans).
    • Specific pass grades: IGCSE: A, B, or C; HIGCSE: 1, 2, or 3.

CPUT Admission Requirements

Grade 12 learners’ admission will be based on their Final Grade 11 marks along with any additional program-specific requirements (if applicable). Final acceptance to the programme will still depend on the Final Grade 12 results.

Students who applied with their Grade 11 marks must submit a certified copy of their final Senior Certificate or equivalent qualification marks at the beginning of the academic year. Failure to submit the final marks will result in losing provisional acceptance.
